This immersive experience, crafted by Azerbaijani artist Orkhan Mammadov, reinterprets the rich history of Eastern carpet weaving through the lens of artificial intelligence and digital art. By employing a state-of-the-art machine learning algorithm, Mammadov analyzed over 150,000 carpet compositions and sketches, extracting patterns and motifs that have defined generations of craftsmanship. La tessitura dei tappeti è da sempre una pietra angolare dell'espressione artistica nelle culture orientali, con ogni regione che ha sviluppato un proprio linguaggio ornamentale. Molti design tradizionali condividono elementi fondamentali — precisione geometrica, composizioni floreali, forme calligrafiche intricate — ma ogni composizione racconta una storia culturale distinta. Alcuni motivi simboleggiano prosperità, protezione o credenze spirituali; altri sono archivi storici che codificano l'identità di chi li ha tessuti. Con il machine learning, Mammadov ha decostruito e ricostruito questi linguaggi visivi, creando una collezione di tappeti digitali del tutto nuova che, pur non essendo mai stata tessuta fisicamente, mantiene un legame profondo con le proprie radici.

Per dare vita a questa visione, tutti gli elementi visivi della mostra sono stati prodotti con Notch, software di grafica real-time molto usato in installazioni d'arte digitale, concerti e performance interattive. I visual generativi creati in Notch sono stati poi integrati nello show con Resolume, potente media server che ha permesso riproduzione dinamica, sincronizzazione e controllo live dei contenuti. Questa combinazione ha garantito un'esperienza visiva reattiva e fluida, con l'arazzo digitale di tappeti che prendeva vita con profondità e movimento straordinari.
To bring this intricate vision to life, all visual elements of the exhibition were produced using Notch, a real-time graphics software widely used in digital art installations, concerts, and interactive performances. The generative visuals created in Notch were then seamlessly integrated into the show using Resolume, a powerful media server that enabled dynamic playback, synchronization, and live control of the visual content. This combination of software tools allowed for a highly responsive and fluid visual experience, ensuring that the digital tapestry of carpets came to life with stunning depth and movement.
Oltre allo spettacolo visivo, "Revival of Aesthetics 2.0" include elementi interattivi che permettono ai visitatori di dialogare direttamente con le opere digitali. Nella fase finale dell'esperienza, un sensore Kinect tracciava movimenti e gesti del pubblico, abilitando l'interazione in tempo reale con i visual proiettati.
