Il progetto sviluppato per GITEX 2023 a Dubai è una sofisticata installazione interattiva creata con Notch, progettata per monitorare in tempo reale la densità di persone in un'area specifica. Grazie a sensori avanzati e software di elaborazione, l'installazione raccoglie i dati sul numero di persone nello spazio e li traduce in output visivi dinamici. Ne nasce un'esperienza immersiva che si adatta costantemente alla situazione reale, monitorando come la densità della folla fluttua durante l'evento.

The project developed for Gitex 2023 in Dubai is a sophisticated interactive installation created using Notch, designed to monitor real-time crowd density of people within a specific area. By utilizing advanced sensors and processing software, the installation gathers data on the number of people in the space and translates it into dynamic visual outputs. This enables the creation of an immersive experience that constantly adapts to the real-time situation, providing continuous monitoring of how crowd density fluctuates throughout the event.
Per amplificare l'impatto visivo e garantire il massimo coinvolgimento, i visual creati venivano proiettati anche su totem posizionati strategicamente nell'area. L'esperienza immersiva si estendeva così a più punti di osservazione, aumentando la visibilità dei cambiamenti dinamici della densità e facilitando una connessione diretta con l'ambiente circostante.
To amplify the visual impact and ensure optimal engagement for participants, the visuals created through the graphic design were also projected onto totems strategically placed throughout the area. This allowed the immersive experience to be extended to multiple observation points, enhancing the visibility of dynamic changes in crowd density and facilitating a direct connection with the surrounding environment.
La componente grafica era progettata per rispondere in modo fluido e istantaneo ai cambi di densità, con una combinazione di colori e forme che mutano in base ai dati ricevuti. Gestendo l'intero sistema con TouchDesigner, abbiamo potuto sincronizzare visual e luci in tempo reale, abbinandoli allo stesso colore generato dal visual Notch.
The installation's graphic component was designed to respond fluidly and instantly to changes in density, using a combination of colors and shapes that shift according to the data received. By managing the entire system with Touchdesigner, we could synchronize visuals and lights in real time by matching the same color generated by the Notch visual.
Quando la densità aumenta, la grafica si trasforma: i colori si intensificano e le forme si espandono, simulando l'intensità del flusso umano. Nelle aree meno affollate, al contrario, la grafica si fa più sottile e leggera, restituendo un senso di spazio aperto. Un approccio che migliora l'esperienza visiva e rende l'interazione con l'ambiente più consapevole e reattiva.
As crowd density increases, the graphics transform: colors intensify, and shapes expand, creating a visual effect that simulates the intensity of human flow. Conversely, in areas with lower density, the graphics become subtler and lighter, reflecting a sense of open space. This approach not only enhances the visual experience but also makes the interaction with the environment more aware and responsive.
L'installazione ha mostrato con forza come le tecnologie moderne possano essere applicate in modo creativo per riflettere e interpretare in tempo reale le dinamiche sociali di una città. Un esempio di interattività avanzata e un passo significativo verso soluzioni smart e visivamente coinvolgenti per la gestione urbana.
The installation made a significant impact in showcasing how modern technologies can be creatively applied to reflect and interpret the social dynamics of a city in real-time. The work is not only an example of advanced interactivity but also a significant step toward integrating smart, visually engaging solutions for urban management.
